My field of expertise is nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century Spanish literature and culture, along with contemporary representations of that period in literature and film. In addition to over forty articles and book chapters, I have published three monographs (one on Ángel Ganivet and two on Miguel de Unamuno), two collective volumes, and six annotated editions of nineteenth-century literary works. I am an associate editor of the academic journals Hispania, Decimonónica, and Siglo diecinueve.
